Sunday Morning Classes
Sunday morning experiences are
provided for children who are 3 years old by September 1 (and fully potty trained) through 5th grade. Children who turn 3 after September 1 or who are not fully pottty trained are invited to attend
"The Ark."
- Early Childhood (3 year olds, 4 year olds and Kindergartners)
We know these children are excited about learning and discovering with all their senses! For this reason we design active learning experiences that let them do what they love most—make crafts, act out dramas, sing, and play active games. Through it all they feel the love of Jesus. - Early Elementary (1st—3rd grades)
Our early elementary children need to "do it!" They need to apply their faith to everyday situations and know they are making a difference. For this reason, we design learning experiences that are fun and active with tasks that involve interaction with their peers. - Upper Elementary (4th—5th grades)
These children have many questions that need to be answered. Through our lessons children are encouraged to dig into God's Word and learn to use their Bibles to find answers to their questions.
Sunday morning classes are offered at two sessions on Sundays—8:45 and 10:30 a.m. Classes do not meet the second Sunday each month for Family Worship Day or during the summer. (See Children's Church) (Click here to download registration form.)
Rally Day
Each September the Children's Ministry year kicks off on Rally Day. Kids find their rooms and meet their teachers for Sunday morning classes. To register your child, contact Carla Wiederhold, Director of Children's Ministry at 763-434-7337.
Summer Children's Church
Between Memorial Day and Labor Day, Sunday morning classes are replaced with Children's Church at 10:30 a.m. Children begin in the sanctuary with their parents at the 10:30 a.m. worship service; after Kid's Time they are released to Children's Church in Room 100. Children's Church does not meet the second Sunday of the month for Family Worship Day.
Wednesday Family U —Kid's College
Wednesdays, 6:45—8 p.m. Sept.-May
Our new Wednesday night educational opportunity, Family U-Kid's College is designed to help children ages 3 through grade 5 grow spiritually and learn more about God. A variety of classes are offered to provide kids an opportunity to develop their own personal growth plan. A course book is available each fall. Family U courses are also offered for youth and adults so the entire family can participate. To register your family for Family U, pick up a course book at the Information Desk. Classes run Sept.-May, taking breaks during Advent and Lent seasons.
Vacation Bible School
An exciting, fun-filled annual summer event, VBS is held in the morning for one week during July. Open to children ages 3-grade 5.
Kids in Mission
Christ's Great Commission to go and make disciples wasn't given just to adults. Children are encouraged to be a part of God's great mission venture, as well. At Family of Christ, students are encouraged to be Kids in Mission through several opportunities, including:
- Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes
- The Mission Store
- The VBS Mission Store
- Other mission projects designed for students and families
