CrossTraining Schedule
The last CrossTraining Winter Session class will be Wednesday, February 10. There will be no CrossTraining on Wednesday, February 17 in observance of Ash Wednesday. Students are encouraged to attend worship service that day with their family at 5:00 or 7:00pm. CrossTraining will resume the following week on February 24 as we begin our Lent Elective Session (See below for more detail) For a complete schedule, reference your CrossTraining Handbook. Winter Session Final Projects Due
In order to receive credit for Winter Session, students are required to complete an assigned Winter Session Final test/project. If you have questions about the assignments contact your students teacher. Extra assignment forms are also available online at www.focluthreran.org. Listed below are the specific final assignments that are due by February 10.

Lent Electives
During the season of Lent (February 24 – March 24) all CrossTraining students will be attending Lent Elective classes instead of their regular CrossTraining class. Students are asked to select from a variety of options that include Communion Instruction, Creation Science, Navigating Adolescence, World Religions, Powerhouse and Seasons of Lent. Please note that all CrossTraining Students must complete the Communion Instruction class sometime before the end of 8th grade. Additional registration forms are available at the CrossTraining Information Centers as well as online at www.foclutheran.org. Classes will take place at the normal time on Wednesday’s from 6:45-8:00pm. Students are required to attend one of the Lent Elective classes. Lent Elective registration forms are due Wednesday, February 10. Some classes have limited space so don’t delay in registering.
Experiential Faith Formation forms
CrossTraining students received the Winter Session Experiential Faith report forms in January. These forms are used to report Service Hours and Faith Formation credits. Students are asked to complete and return the form by March 24 so the information can be included on their next progress report. Additional forms are available online at www.foclutheran.org
Progress Reports
The next progress reports will be sent out in early April and will reflect results from the winter session and Lent elective session. A final year end report will be sent out again in June.
Special Events
Youth Ski / boarding and snow tubing Trip
Family of Christ Youth will participate in “Church Night” at Powder Ridge on Saturday, February 27. Lift tickets are only $15.00 and tubing is only $13.00. Equipment rental and both ski and boarding lessons are available at a significant discount as well. Transportation by bus is also provided for $10.00 a person. Friends and family are welcome. Registration is due by Feb. 17. Participants can earn credit for their Faith Formation Module. Extra registration forms are available at the CrossTraining Info. Center or online at www.foclutheran.org
Mega Rally
Join us Sunday, March 7 for the next Mega Rally at
All CrossTraining students are invited to help with the Super Sub Fund-raiser on Saturday, February 6 from 10:00-11:30am. Students will help to assemble over 1000 super subs to be sold the next day at Church. Students participating in this fund-raiser can earn money that will be placed in a special “youth account” in their name that can be used for Family of Christ Youth events and activities.
The next meeting for the South Dakota Mission trip is Wednesday, March 10 from 8:05-8:40pm in room 100. If you are unable to attend please contact Pete Hiller to make other arrangements to receive the information and materials from that meeting.

Have you considered attending Summer Camp? If not? Perhaps you should.
Service Opportunities
A number of volunteer opportunities are available for CrossTraining students at Family of Christ. Please remember that CrossTraining students are encouraged to complete 10 hours of volunteer service each year. Listed below are some opportunities available to students at Family of Christ. Don’t forget that students are both encouraged and able to do other service projects on their own outside the church in their neighborhood and community.
Lent Soup Suppers: Assist with Advent Soup Suppers on Wednesdays from 5:30-7:00pm starting February 17. Volunteers will be scheduled to assist with serving, set-up and clean up. Contact: Pete Hiller 763-434-7337
Nursery Assistant: Assist in the Family of Christ Nursery on Sunday mornings and for other special services as scheduled. If you love working with children this is a great opportunity to serve in an area that makes a big difference. Contact: Karen Loftus 763-434-7337
Custodial Assistants needed: Assist with various cleaning projects in the church building. Volunteers will assist the custodial staff with a ministry of keeping our facilities clean and tidy so that guests and visitors feel welcome. Contact:
Feed My Starving Children: Help assemble meal packages that are sent all over the world to feed those in need. Feed my Starving Children is a local ministry that engages volunteers in sending hundreds of thousand meals around the world each year. The next Family of Christ day at FMSC is Tuesday, March 2. Future dates are: April 6, May 4, June 1, July 6 and
