Our Mission
"As a family of Christ, we live to Love, Learn, and Lead at home, at church and throughout the world."
Our Vision
To be a praying, celebrating, serving, outreaching, spiritually maturing, caring and healing Family of Christ, for all generations.
Our Values
- Relationship not religion
Salvation is received through a faith relationship with Jesus Christ, not through performance of religious rituals. Neither church membership nor performance of service within the institution of the church is to be confused with a living relationship with Jesus Christ and His body.
- Scripture not reason
God has revealed Himself in Holy Scripture through the writings of the prophets and the Apostles. These scriptures are the authoritative guide for our faith and life. While we use our mind and reason to understand, interpret and apply principles of Holy Scripture, our mind is captive to the Word of God.
- Mission driven — not self-absorbed
Family of Christ does not exist for itself. It is not an end, but a means to an end. We are always moving outward beyond ourselves to reach others. We come to Jesus so that we may go forth for Jesus in our mission to build a family of Christ-followers at home, at church and throughout the world.
- Home centered and church supported
- Excellence not success
Under God's grace and power we will strive to do our very best with the gifts and abilities God has given us both to please Him and accomplish His purposes on the earth. We cannot control the results or outcomes of our efforts, but we can strive, under His grace, to control our actions and character.
- Innovative not change-resistant
While we see value in time-honored approaches and styles of ministry, we also look for new ways to communicate the gospel and the eternal truths of Holy Scripture. Creative thinking and the free exchange of ideas will be encouraged.
- Relevant not archaic
While we believe that the Gospel is in itself inherently relevant to the needs of people of every age, we also recognize that care must be given to personally apply it to the ideas, values, needs and hurts of people in today's world. Our worship, preaching, teaching and programming must relate to the daily lives of people.
- Real not religious
Under God's grace we will strive to be authentic Christians; authentic in our faith and authentic in the struggles we face living out our faith in this world. Our God is real; we want our faith life to be real. Christianity is more than outward profession, appearances or religious practices. It's fighting the good fight each day, striving to honestly, consistently and sincerely live as Christ-followers at home, at church and throughout the world.
- Inclusive not exclusive
In the Spirit of Christ we welcome everybody regardless of age, race, gender or denominational background, piety or socio-economic status. We will accept people where they are and under God's grace, guided by His Spirit through the Word, lead them to where He wants them to be.
- Responsive not deterministic
We will seek the direction of the Holy Spirit in all of our undertakings. We will be a congregation of prayer and open in a God-Word way to the opportunities and challenges He places before us. Plans, goals and objectives are pointless unless they are Spirit-motivated and directed.
- Partnership not membership
We do not value or promote the notion of membership with rights, privileges, and services for the member, but seek sincere partners in accomplishing the work of Jesus Christ, namely, building a family of Christ-followers at home, at church and throughout the world.
